Whale Watching
Go in search of whales on this 4-5 hour morning whale watching cruise from Mirissa Port. We will pick you up at the hotel early in the morning, grab a life jacket and set off on the Indian Ocean aboard a comfortable 15 meter long boat with an experienced skipper crew. Enjoy a continental breakfast and tea or coffee as you sail along a whale-frequented route, keeping an eye out for sperm, killer, humpback and pilot whales in the water, as well as dolphins and sea turtles.

Mirissa fishing port
The whale watching tour packages begin at approximately 6:30 am from Mirissa Fishing Port. Passengers are transferred to high quality boats equipped with necessary safety devices such as compass, GPS, nautical charts and UHF radio. These boats also have a small kitchen where fresh breakfast is prepared and served. Western toilets with shower facilities and plenty of comfortable seating are available for passengers. Life jackets of various sizes are given to passengers for their safety before the boat sets sail. Please note that the crew members on board are all officially qualified in lifesaving, firefighting and first aid.
The entire whale watching experience lasts on average around 4-5 hours, possibly longer if the whale sightings last a while. The chance of seeing whales is around 90-95% and we will do our best to make sure you see the whales.
After your whale watching tour, Tony Sri Lanka Tours offers additional sightseeing options (optional) such as visiting the neighboring Galle Fort, the Turtle Hatchery or water sports activities.
